Two Mercer Capital professionals will be speaking at the ASA 2019 Advanced Business Valuation Conference in New York on August 26th. Z. Christopher Mercer, FASA, CFA, ABAR will present “Best Ways to Create a Strong Referral Network” with Jay E. Fishman, FASA (Financial Research Associates). Bryce Erickson, ASA, MRICS will present “Issues in Professional Sports Valuation” with Kevin G. Kane, CFA, ASA (Empire Valuation Consultants). Several other Mercer Capital professionals will also be in attendance.
Chris began his valuation career in the late 1970s. He has prepared, overseen, or contributed to hundreds of valuations for purposes related to tax, ESOPs, buy-sell agreements, and litigation, among others. In addition, he has served on the boards of directors of several private companies and one public company. He enjoys working with business owners to address ownership transition issues. Chris is a prolific author on valuation-related topics and a frequent speaker on business valuation issues for national professional associations and other business and professional group.
Bryce has been involved or managed hundreds of valuation engagements since his entry into the valuation profession in 1998. Bryce has developed particular experience in sports franchise consulting has been involved with a number sports valuation engagements over the past several years. He has participated and/or helped manage professional sports team transactions and valuations from several standpoints including merger & acquisition, financing, estate & gift taxes, and litigation. Consulting engagements have included valuation of franchises – both on an enterprise and a minority level, financial analysis of sports teams, and intangible asset appraisals.
