Mercer Capital Sponsoring and Speaking at the 2023 Acquire or Be Acquired (AOBA) Conference

Mercer Capital is proud to again be a sponsor for the 2023 Acquire or Be Acquired (AOBA) Conference presented by Bank Director magazine. The conference will be held January 29–31, 2023 in Phoenix, Arizona.

The AOBA Conference is regarded as the financial industry’s premier M&A event for bank CEOs, boards of directors, and key leadership teams. The conference focuses on helping bank officers and directors better understand the economy, explore paths to creating greater shareholder value, and focus on how the competitive landscape continues to evolve.

Three of Mercer Capital’s professionals, Jeff Davis, Andy Gibbs, and Jay Wilson will be in attendance, and Jay will be playing in the L. William Seidman Annual Acquire or Be Acquired Golf Tournament.

Additionally, Jay Wilson will be presenting a breakout session titled “CU/Bank Transactions, Non-Traditional Growth Opportunities, and Valuations.” His session covers the universe of strategic options for banks and how they have expanded to include credit union acquirers and developing or acquiring non-traditional lines of business (mortgage, insurance, wealth management, or FinTech). He will provide insights into these trends, how they intersect, and discuss how acquirers determine a valuation range and model deal metrics for banks with both traditional and non-traditional lines of business.

Jay Wilson is a senior member of Mercer Capital’s Financial Institutions Group and leads the firm’s FinTech practice. Jay publishes articles on the community bank, credit union, and FinTech industries. He is involved in the valuation of financial institutions and FinTech companies for a variety of purposes, including ESOPs, mergers and acquisitions, profit-sharing plans, estate and gift tax planning, compliance matters, and corporate planning.

Jeff Davis is the Managing Director of Mercer Capital’s Financial Institutions Group. The Financial Institutions Group works with banks, thrifts, credit unions, asset managers, insurance companies and agencies, BDCs, REITs, broker-dealers and financial technology companies.

Andy Gibbs leads Mercer Capital’s Depository Institutions Group. Andy provides valuation and corporate advisory services to financial institutions for purposes including mergers and acquisitions, employee stock ownership plans, profit sharing plans, estate and gift tax planning and compliance matters, corporate planning and reorganizations.
