Z. Christopher Mercer, FASA, CFA, ABAR will be presenting alongside Dori Foster Morales, Esq. at the Florida Chapter’s AAML 45th Annual Institute on May 5th, 2023.
Chris’s interactive session is titled “The Art and Science of Business Valuations—Grey Zones to Consider.” In the session, participants will learn pressing valuation issues in divorce cases and how to properly prepare their cases to meet their clients’ expectations.
Chris Mercer is the Chairman of Mercer Capital. He began his valuation career in the late 1970s. He has prepared, overseen, or contributed to hundreds of valuations for purposes related to tax, ESOPs, buy-sell agreements, and litigation, among others. Chris has extensive experience in litigation engagements including statutory fair value cases, divorce, and numerous other matters where valuation issues are in question. He is also an expert in buy-sell agreement disputes.
Chris co-authored Business Valuation: An Integrated Theory, 3rd Edition (Wiley Finance, 2020) with Travis W. Harms, CFA, CPA/ABV. He is also the author of the well-referenced book Buy-Sell Agreements for Closely Held and Family Business Owners (Peabody Publishing LP, 2010), among other books.
