Mercer Capital is pleased to announce that Alex M. Barry, CFA has rejoined the firm as a Vice President in our Dallas office. Prior to rejoining, Alex was an Investment Banking Associate in Citi’s Global Energy Group in Houston.
Alex has extensive experience providing valuation and corporate advisory services for purposes including litigation support, estate and gift tax planning and compliance matters, fairness opinions, employee stock ownership plans, buy-sell agreements, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate planning and reorganizations.
As a senior member of the firm’s oil and gas industry team, Alex provides oil and gas companies, servicers, and mineral & royalty owners with valuation services related to corporate planning and reorganization, litigated matters, transactions, employee stock ownership plans, and tax issues as well as valuations of intangible assets, options, and assets subject to specific contractual restrictions. Alex also consults with oil and gas clients in the process of buying another or selling their business. He publishes research related to the oil and gas industry and is a regular contributor to Mercer Capital’s blog, Energy Valuation Insights.

Alex graduated from Vanderbilt University with a BA in Economics and received an MBA with a concentration in Energy Finance from the McCombs School of Business at UT Austin.
