Chris Mercer to Speak at the NAVIX Compass Meeting

Chris Mercer will present  “Valuation Perspectives for Private Business Owners: Focus on Unlocking Private Company Wealth and Buy-Sell Agreements” at the upcoming NAVIX Compass Meeting on September 27, 2019 in Atlanta, Georgia. This presentation will discuss concepts from Chris’ books, Buy-Sell Agreements for Closely Held and Family Business Owners and Unlocking Private Company Wealth.

Buy-Sell Agreements

Unless your client has had their buy-sell agreement reviewed from a valuation perspective, they don’t know what it says. This comes as a surprise to many – an often unpleasant surprise as too many find themselves caught up in unexpected and costly legal wrangles or personal turmoil. This session provides you with information from a valuation perspective that will help ensure that your clients’ buy-sell, shareholder, or joint venture agreement results in a reasonable resolution and is not a ticking time bomb set to explode upon a triggering event. In other words, you will leave this session understanding how your clients’ buy-sell agreement will work – before a trigger event occurs.

Unlocking Private Company Wealth

This presentation focuses on managing the wealth represented by ownership of a private business. It is important for business advisers to understand how to talk to their business owner clients about private company wealth. An increasing number of closely held and family business owners are facing ownership or management transition. Therefore, the time is now to begin talking with them about the critical issues surrounding these transitions so that you will be part of the team working with them to help them achieve their goals.
