Scott A. Womack, ASA, MAFF and David W. R. Harkins, CFA, ABV are attending the 2023 Tennessee Federal Tax Conference in Franklin, Tennessee, held on November 15, 2023 – November 17, 2023.
The conference is co-sponsored by TSCPA and the Tennessee Federal Tax Institute and brings together national and local tax leaders to deliver the latest on international tax, estate planning, federal tax, SALT, and other trending issues, including the Corporate Transparency Act, S corporation reorganization and M&A, advanced partnership issues and more.
Scott has over 20 years of experience in business valuation. During his valuation career, Scott has worked with clients in a wide variety of industries and for purposes including gift and estate tax valuation, litigation support, corporate valuation, ESOPs, and financial reporting. Scott also assists estate planning attorneys throughout the nation in federal and state gift and estate tax valuation matters. In addition, he has testified in Tax Court. As the leader of Mercer Capital’s Auto Dealership Industry team, Scott provides valuation services to dealerships throughout the U.S. related to corporate planning and reorganization, transactions, employee stock ownership plans, litigation support, and tax issues as well as valuations of intangible assets, and assets subject to specific contractual restrictions.
David has been involved with hundreds of valuation and litigation support engagements in a diverse range of industries on local, national, and international levels. He provides valuation analyses for family law, commercial litigation, gift and estate tax planning, transactions (M&A), fairness and solvency opinions, and employee stock ownership plans (ESOP), among other valuation-related service needs of privately held businesses. He is also a member of the firm’s Auto Dealership Industry team and Litigation group.
