Matthew R. Crow, CFA, ASA, president, and Nicholas J. Heinz, ASA, senior vice president will present “Personal Goodwill Matters To Your Clients” at the Thursday mid-day program (October 22th) at the Southern Federal Tax Institute.
Originally a concept that grew up in divorce court, distinguishing the value of personal goodwill from the value of the enterprise is now becoming established as a relevant tax concept in transactions and gift/estate matters. They will walk through a conceptual history of personal goodwill, highlight relevant court cases, give a brief overview of the valuation concepts, and focus on identifying opportunities to utilize the identification of personal goodwill as a tax strategy.
Mercer Capital, an Institute Sponsor, is exhibiting and Laura J. Stevens, CFA, Vice President, is also attending.
