Available Position: Senior Valuation Professional

Mercer Capital seeks talented individuals who want to further their career in business valuation at an established and growing firm. Both Vice President and Senior Vice President roles are available, as appropriate, for the right candidates.

As a senior valuation professional, you will use your expertise to lead engagements, develop client relationships, mentor more junior staff, and contribute to the continued growth of the firm.

Founded over forty years ago, Mercer Capital is an employee-owned business valuation and financial advisory firm. Our clients range from private family-owned businesses to public corporations, from smaller companies to large multinationals across a broad range of industries. In a typical year, we complete approximately 750+ engagements for both domestic and international clients. Our services include valuations of businesses and securities for the purpose of financial reporting, employee stock ownership plans, tax planning, transaction consulting, and litigation support. In addition, we provide transaction consulting and opinions, strategic planning, and shareholder development.

Responsibilities of the Position

  • Management of valuation and financial advisory engagements

  • Development and maintenance of client and referral relationships

  • Participation in new business development activities

  • Leadership and implementation of the firm’s content marketing initiatives

  • Supervision and training of junior staff

  • Preparation of written reports and documentation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (with an emphasis in finance, economics, mathematics, or accounting preferred).

  • Minimum of 5+ years professional experience in business valuation or a related field

  • Advanced knowledge of business valuation theory, economics, and principles of financial accounting

  • Outstanding writing, quantitative, and communication skills are required.

  • Candidates who have attained the CFA, CPA, ASA, ABV, or other professional designations will receive preference.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) required.

  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S., without employer sponsorship, at the time of hire and in the future.
