Mercer Capital to Sponsor and Karolina Calhoun to Conduct a Family Law CLE Session

Mercer Capital is proud to sponsor the Memphis Bar Association’s upcoming continuing learning education (CLE) session on June 19, 2019. Karolina Calhoun, CPA/ABV/CFF, vice president of Mercer Capital, will present “What is a Lifestyle Analysis and Why is it Important? An Overview and Case Study.”

A short description of the session can be found below:

A lifestyle analysis is an analysis of each spouse’s income and expenses, used to demonstrate the standard of living during the marriage and to determine the living expenses and spending habits of each spouse.  It is typically a more in-depth analysis than the financial affidavits required in the divorce process and is prepared by a forensic accountant.  Through illustration of the aggregate sources of income(s) and expenses over time, one can discern what funds are actually required (and if these funds are available) to maintain standard of living.  The details in the analysis serve as verification of net worth and income and the parties’ expense statements, and can help a judge determine the equitable distribution of marital assets as well as alimony needs.

Karolina has been involved with hundreds of valuation and litigation support engagements in a diverse range of industries on local, national and international levels.  As a member of the firm’s Litigation Group, she provides valuation and forensics services for litigated family law, gift & estate planning and further matters related to divorce, privately held businesses, dissenting shareholders, intellectual property, personal goodwill, etc.  With her forensics accreditation, she provides economic and financial damages studies, asset tracing, lost profits, and lifestyle analysis.

This event has been approved for 1 hour of CLE. For more information or to register, visit the Memphis Bar Association’s website.
